Is It Weird?

So I was jejely sitting on my own when my husband came into the living room to ask me what happened to my toothbrush…it wasn’t in the holder. I said “oh I put it in the garbage” – its time to change it. And he goes how do you figure if the bristles aren’t frayed and stuff. I was like well it takes me about 2.5 to 3 months to finish a tube of toothpaste so once toothpaste finishes, then the lifespan of the toothbrush is over. Anyway he went on to talk about how would I know when to dispose the toothbrush if he was sharing my toothpaste. Fortunately in the last 10 years I have never had to share my toothpaste because I either lived alone or whoever I lived with doesnt use the same toothpaste – my parents use Crest, my husband uses sensodyne and I only ever use colgate total (anything else really gets on my nerves)!

My husband went on to detail some of my habits such as changing sheets & duvet every 2 weeks and towels once a week and how he thinks I am a little too meticulous with stuff. And I am like I actually am lax with the towels and sheets as I went from every 3 days for towels to 1 week and every week for sheets to 2 weeks. He of course clarified that he thinks its nice I pay attention to stuff but he noticed I am never even a day late with it.

It actually got me thinking maybe I have some sort of organisational OCD. I do not consider myself a neat freak by any standards but I am also particular about separating clothes into darks, lights and whites and putting them in the machine without mixing etc.

So please i have questions – feel free to answer honestly we are not judging.

1. How ofte  do you change your toothbrush?

2. How often do you change your sheets?

3. How often do you change your towels?

4. Are you satisfied with the frequency with which you do these things or do you think you should change the timing?

PS: June started off on a high note, news that I waited to receive the entire May came in on the 1st.

  1. Ah! me I think it’s ok o, the normal me changes sheets and towels every week except duvet though. I also separate clothes according to colours before doing my laundry. I’ve always thought that’s how normal people do it. I’m only late on the sheets and towels when I’m not myself.

As for the toothbrush, I don’t really have a schedule, but yours seems to make a lot of sense. I think I should even adopt it

Congratulations on the long awaited news, I’m sure it’s a good one.

I change my toothbrush depending on the brush. Once it starts getting soft then it’s time to go. However, I can’t really tell because I use two or three brushes at a time and randomly pick anyone in the morning.

Sheets and towels, hmmm… Sheets about two weeks or less, towels maybe a little longer.

Random: I always wonder, since towels are used to dry clean bodies, why do they get dirty? Answers, anyone? (It’s for this reason I refuse to change towels more often).

  3. Toothbrush – Once it starts getting soft or I am not feeling it any more

Bed sheets – Every two weeks, pillow case- once a week (if I remember)

Towels – Every two weeks, or Less

I think I am okay with the frequency, but I might change the frequency of the toothbrush to yours. it actually makes sense.

  4. Toothbrush – every 3 months, as recommended by the dentist.
Sheets and towels – every week, sometimes earlier.
Duvet cover – every other week

  5. Oops forgot to answer the last part.
I sometimes feel like I should change my towels more often because I mostly use light-colored towels. When I stay in hotels for a long time, I have housekeeping change my towel every two-three days.

  6. Toothbrush- when I get tired of seeing the same colour every morning

Bedsheet- every two weeks, pillow case is every week.

Towels – I wash everytime I wash my bedsheets
I do seperate colours too when i get to do the laundry myself,I think it makes the work easier.

  7. My toothbrush – once it gets frayed or I feel it’s time for a change, usually after 6 months.
I do two weeks with my sheets and towel too.
What does it matter if one has “a bit” of cleaning OCD though? I’d be mighty pleased if my SO had “a bit” of it. 🙂

  8. Toothbrush 3 months.

Sheets and towels not more than 2 weeks. Just depends on loads of factors.

    Comforter monthly.

How else do people do laundry if it’s not color sorted? Fear of colors running

Wash my hair weekly, closet arranged by colors, type and occassion, all my hangers the same (wooden) and all my shoes in clear boxes also arranged by colors, occassion. That’s the extent of my particular behavior (won’t call it ocd)
