Happy New Week

I was going to post about something else but i can’t really organise my brain at the moment, so I don’t really remember what.  So i went to America and London this last trip and why do I feel like I need a vacation after driving in Lagos for a few days? Taaah!

London people though, una dey suffer oh! You will go to sainsbury to buy groceries and spend £15 and when you get home you still cannot make a functional meal out of your purchase.  Shior….they are team fit fam by force…you dont see 500lb people, everybody is slimmer than slim. Between trekking so that i wouldnt pay £3 to enter bus for 5 minutes and managing the food money i probably lost 5 lbs.

“Amrika” on the other hand you will eat till you suffocate. As in $20 can give you groceries to feed 5 average weight or obese adults. My husband says its because American farmers get agricultural subsidies. I am happy to say i gained back the weight i lost in London and I enjoyed my favourite guilty pleasures aka IHOP, Cheesecake Factory  and bubble tea. My fave at Ihop is the NY style cheesecake pancakes, at cheese cake factory it’s the Jamaican black pepper shrimp…and i will pretty much drink any flavour and type of bubble tea. Oh yeah i straightened my hair also, that lasted all of two days- the Dominicans practice withcraft with blowdryers…tour hair comes out sleeker and straighter than even when you have a perm.

I don’t take a lot of pictures…never been too keen on pictures but i just thought I’d share. Can I travel again please? Not even to shop because i think I bought myself like 5 pieces of clothing – that “one nation” pink sweater was one of the five and i must have washed it 4 or maybe 5 times in the one month. Taa. I want good food oh!

I will come back to my senses sooner or later…i can tell you though this week is gonna be explosive and dynamic, so watch out.

I wish you a good week ahead…

    • Nne – i slept and watched TV oh. I watched so much TV its a wonder I have not changed profession to TV show critic. You know when you don’t believe that light can be present for 24 hours because Nigeria has jaded you.

  4. Wellcome back again. I feel you on London being too expensive, I was there alone a few weeks ago, and I can’t count how many times I complained about things being expensive. after a while I accepted my fate and enjoyed my stay.

Happy new week to everyone here, i wish everyone a fruitful and blessed week.

    • Zoe, I will complain about London for as long as my mouth can move…it is one of my least favourite places in the world and I say that in comparison to maybe 40 other cities/countries. Even Paris didn’t feel so violating.

  5. Yankee the land of overfat. Too much food and drive through everything.

So funny how I moved away and you guys are now in the NB zones. Know that hotel even in my sleep. 5 mins from my old office.

Welcome back to gidi where it’s always a mission to stay stress free

    • Bee I like overfat – let me eat and be full. I came back to Lagos 1kg lighter than I left thanks to London. I know right – ended up in NJ after the NY life for so long and you decided to leave. lol.

    • Berry, in retrospect I am thinking I should have eaten breakfast at IHOP everyday and dinner at cheesecake factory every evening. To think about it, the price of that Jamaican black pepper shrimp only changed by $3 since I was in University and thats like donkey kong years ago. lol.
